Three ways to bring files into a chat
The plus button holds every way of giving Metir something to read. Which one you pick depends on how many documents there are and how deeply you need them read.

The plus menu
- Upload from computer, pick files from your machine.
- My Files, browse files you have already saved in Workspace.
- Deep Research, point an agent at a folder or a set of documents.
- Artifact, attach a document, deck or spreadsheet Metir made earlier. See slide decks.

- Amnesia, send with no memory or context. See Amnesia.

The full-file limit
There is a cap on how many files can be read in full in one message. When you reach it, Metir offers to move the whole set into Deep Research instead, which has no practical limit because it searches rather than loading everything at once. See what Deep Research is.
Green, yellow and grey dots
Every file in the picker carries a small dot showing whether it has been indexed. Green means indexed and ready. A partial dot on a folder means only some of its files are indexed. Deep Research can only use indexed files, and the picker will index them for you. See adding and indexing files.
