Three ways to bring files into a chat
The plus button holds every way of giving Metir something to read. Which one you pick depends on how many documents there are and how deeply you need them read.

The plus menu
- Upload from computer, pick files from your machine.

- Deep Research, point an agent at a folder or a set of documents.

The full-file limit
There is a cap on how many files can be read in full in one message. When you reach it, Metir offers to move the whole set into Deep Research instead, which has no practical limit because it searches rather than loading everything at once. See what Deep Research is.
What an attached file looks like
A picture the browser can display arrives as a thumbnail you can click to see full size. Everything else arrives as a card with the file type, its name and its size, which is also what you get for camera formats a browser cannot preview. A file still uploading shows its progress in place, and one that failed offers to retry rather than quietly vanishing.
Not every model takes every kind of file. Audio and video only go to the models that can hear and watch, and Metir tells you which when you try. Programs are never accepted. See choosing a model.
The indexing dots
Every file in the picker carries a small dot showing whether it has been indexed. Green means indexed and ready. Blue means it is being indexed right now. Grey means it is waiting its turn, and an amber dot on a folder means only some of its files are indexed. Deep Research can only use indexed files, and the picker will index them for you. Uploading a zip
Upload a zip and it is unpacked into a folder named after the archive, with its internal folders kept exactly as they were, so a research library you already organised on your computer arrives organised here too.
