A skill is a packaged capability: a set of instructions and tools tuned for one job. Typing / at the start of a message lists the ones available to you.

What a skill changes
It gives Metir a specific method and specific tools for that request. It does not change which model answers, so your category choice still applies. See choosing a model.
Where skills come from
Some ship with Metir and are always there. Others you add from the skills page in your account. See adding and managing skills.
The slash has to be the first character of the message. Mid-sentence, it is just a slash.
