However a meeting happens, Metir can capture it. Which method you use depends only on where the meeting is. You record it yourself, so nothing ever joins a call on your behalf.

What happens afterwards, whichever you use
The recording uploads, gets transcribed, and produces a summary with action items. It becomes a meeting in Workspace that you can search, mention in a chat, and share. See the meeting page and mentions.
Nothing joins the call for you
Metir does not send anything into your meetings. Both methods record from your own device, which means there is never an extra participant in the call and nothing to explain to the room.
Connecting your calendar first
Optional, but worth doing. With a calendar connected, meetings appear before they happen and the people in them are recognised, so a recording lands against the right meeting. See connecting a calendar.
