Recording a meeting in your browser

Your browser can record a meeting in the room through your microphone or capture an online call from its browser tab. Nothing joins the meeting, and you get a full transcript and notes afterwards.

Starting a recording

Record meeting on the chat home, or the + on the Calendar panel in Workspace. Both open the same Record a meeting form: give it a title, paste the call link if there is one, and press Start recording. It takes you straight to the capture screen.

In person or Online call

Choose In person for your microphone only, when the meeting is in the room. Choose Online call for Zoom, Meet or Teams. Online call is the only way to capture what other people on the call say.

1. Join the call in a browser tab

   Installed meeting clients are not supported.

2. Return to Metir and choose the meeting tab

   Pick it in the browser's share window.

3. Tick Share tab audio

   Without Share tab audio, only your voice is recorded.

Pasting a Zoom, Google Meet or Teams link is optional and only adds a one-tap join button. You are still the one recording, and nothing joins the call.

When you are recording your screen as well as your voice, a small floating window also opens. It reads Not recording until you actually press start, so switching to your meeting before the recording has begun is still obvious rather than looking the same as one running fine.

While it runs

The page shows that the recording is live, with a timer. Keep the tab open for the whole meeting. The floating window mirrors the same status and controls on top of your other tabs and apps, so you do not have to keep the recording tab in view to know it is still working.

Stopping

Press stop, and the recording uploads and processes. It appears alongside your other meetings when it is done. See the meeting page.

Unsent and waiting to transcribe

Unsent recordings are still stored in this browser and have not uploaded yet. A recording under Waiting to transcribe has uploaded, but transcription is paused until credits are available. The Unsent recordings page links to that separate waiting list.
