What Metir remembers about you

Metir remembers. Not the whole transcript of every conversation, but the things worth keeping: facts about you, how you like things done, and the people and projects you talk about.

What gets remembered

Facts, preferences, the people you work with, and a short summary of each conversation. Tell it once that you present to a board every quarter, and it stops asking who the audience is.

When it happens

On its own, in the background. You will not see it happen and it does not slow anything down.

How it handles a change

Tell it something has changed and it updates. What was true before is not thrown away, so a measurement you have tracked over time stays a series rather than collapsing to the latest reading.

What it does not do

It does not store your documents as memory. Documents stay documents and are searched when they are needed. See adding and indexing files.

The first-reply note

Under your first assistant reply you see a one-time note saying Metir will remember this for next time. It is there to make the memory layer visible rather than something that happens invisibly.

Turning it off for a message

Use Amnesia. See Amnesia.
