Connectors that need a key, and ones that need nothing

Not every connector uses a sign-in screen. Some want a key you generate in the other app, and some need nothing from you at all.

Pasting a key, and a connector that needs nothing
  1. Some connectors want a key
  2. Paste it once and save
  3. Others are on already, with no account needed

Token connectors

  1. Generate a key in the other app

Usually under developer or API settings.
  2. Copy it

    Keys are usually shown once.
  3. Paste it into the connector in Metir and save

The key is stored for your account only, and you can replace or remove it later.

Open connectors

Some data sources need no account at all. Those are available to everyone, which is why you may see one in the chat connector list without having set anything up. See connectors in a chat.

Which is which

The Integrations page tells you what each connector needs before you start.

Give a key the narrowest permissions the other app offers. If it supports a read-only key, use one.
