Consensus is $1.28 EPS for Nov 2026 across 3 estimates, ranging $1.25 to $1.32.
MSC finished fiscal 2026 with record quarterly sales and adjusted EPS above expectations: adjusted diluted EPS of $1.45 exceeded the $1.39 consensus by 4.3%. Net sales of $1.079 billion increased 10.3% year over year, or 8.6% on an average-daily-sales basis, and were approximately 3% above the $1.047 billion reported in Q3. The reported and adjusted earnings picture diverged sharply. GAAP diluted EPS was $0.85 versus $1.01 a year ago and $1.44 in Q3, while adjusted EPS increased from $1.09 a year ago. GAAP operating income declined to $72.8 million from $84.3 million a year ago, but adjusted operating income rose to $117.8 million from $90.3 million.
The main driver of that gap was a $41.8 million digital-core impairment and related charge; adjusted results also exclude $1.4 million of restructuring costs and $1.8 million of share-reclassification litigation costs. Beneath the charge, adjusted operating margin expanded to 10.9% from 9.2%, as stronger volume and pricing combined with cost progress. Core customer growth of approximately 10% was the strongest in more than three years, and sales growth accelerated over the fiscal year. Management expects that momentum to continue near term, guiding to Q1 ADS growth of 9.5%–10.5% and adjusted operating margin of 9.5%–10.1%, while flagging inflation and tougher comparisons ahead.
