Builders FirstSource supplies building products, manufactured components and related services to homebuilders and other professional construction customers. It earns revenue by selling materials and components used in residential construction, alongside value-added services; the supplied evidence does not break out revenue or profit by segment. Its results are exposed to housing starts and homebuilding activity, as reflected in management’s comments on continued single-family softness. The company reported FY2025 revenue of $15.2 billion and net income of $0.4 billion, compared with FY2024 revenue of $16.4 billion and net income of $1.1 billion.
Builders FirstSource gained 14.18%, rising from $56.85 to $64.91, as a sharp post-earnings rally more than reversed the earlier slide. Shares fell from $56.21 on Monday to $55.88 on Wednesday, then jumped to $63.06 Thursday on the Q3 results and advanced again Friday. The quarter beat estimates, with Zacks reporting EPS and revenue surprises of 34.82% and 2.08%, respectively; volume also rose substantially on Thursday and Friday. The results were mixed beneath the beat: sales declined 2.2% year over year to $3.9 billion and net income was $60.4 million. Management said results met expectations despite soft single-family housing activity, citing cost actions and productivity measures.
